The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) received enquiries from members of the public regarding a website, with the domain name http://antarespay.com/, claiming that its product is licensed by the HKMA. The HKMA wishes to clarify that the claim on the website does not tally with the fact.

The public should be aware that the Antares Pay or Antares Card is not an authorized institution (AI), stored value facility (SVF) licensee or approved money broker regulated by the HKMA. The lists of AIs and the register of SVF licensees (https://www.hkma.gov.hk/eng/regulatory-resources/registers/) and the list of approved money brokers regulated by the HKMA (https://www.hkma.gov.hk/media/eng/doc/key-functions/banking-stability/banking-policy-and-supervision/name_list.xls) can be found on the HKMA website.

Anyone who suspects to have fallen victim to fraudulent activities should report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012 immediately for follow-up actions and investigation by the Police.
